I'm am in no way related to Scenalyser, but i just wanted to share the news about this invaluable tool for me:

Scenalyser is now updated with beta 4. The same no nonsense, crude interface, but with many tools improvements:

1.split / join / trim / delete section tools (hurrah!)
2.drag and drop anywhere from the thumbnails (even in the Vegas timeline)
3.scene detection (optical or date stamp) during *or* after capture
4. naming options during *or* after capture
5.elaborated clip list tool to organise everything
6.dropped frame locator

etc...
