Yes! The new Scenalyzer manual is a welcome addition. I learned to use the program like everyone else, by fumbling my way through all of the menu options.
If you are capturing alot of DV that needs to be broken into start stop segments - Then, Scenalyzer is a must buy.
The analog capture with optical scene detection recognition, still requires alot of extra work for joining and splitting segments.
The HD-Log capture program from Imagine Products has better analog optical scene detection results.
I've been using the May2005 build of ScenalyzerLive4 quite happily for some months. I can't find anything on their website that says what's changed in the December28 build, so my tendency is to leave well enough alone, and not download the new build.
Do you know of any reason why one *should* go from the May2005 to the December2005 build?

Good question. I'm in exactly the same position and I tried to find an answer when this thread first began. No luck. I don't think there are any new features beyond those in the beta, bu I assume that all "bugs" have been fixed (I personally didn't run into any, so that's why I put "bugs" in quotes).
Below, is a quote from Andreas at Scenalyzer regarding this latest update.
"I changed a little on the user-interface, a bug with simple-editing was fixed, the File / Tools / Repair damanged avi file function has been added. Mainly the update is to match the newly available manual with the program."
