Scene detection is necessary for 24p capture ?

Is that true ?
I usually capture a whole tape and trim it afterwards, I have to set the program to create individual clips ?

Yes, scene detection is needed. Capturing one long clip could result in incorrect 2:3 removal.

When are the frames removed ? During caputure or when you place the media on the timeline ?

Pulldown removal happens when the media is read.

Logging and batch capture should be no problem, as long as you don't capture across a mode change.
