On my main menu I have maid a play movie button and a scene selection button. on the scene selection menu I have 4 chapters. when i click on Preview and select any given chapter it jumps to that chapter, which is fine. Then when I press MENU on the remote it goes back to the scene selection menu. which is exactly what i want to do. however when i click on MAKE DVD and export it to dvd, that's not what happens. when i go to the scene selection menu and select a chapter it'll go to the desired chapter, but when i press menu it goes back to the main menu and not the scene selection menu. what am i doing wrong?

Make sure "End Action" for the media is set to go to "Most Recent Menu."

You're doing nothing wrong. There are two different types of menus typically defined on a DVD. And your remote may have two different menu buttons (or it may have only one menu button). What you're describing would be the action associated with pressing the "title menu" button on your remote - this takes you back to the first menu that normally plays on the DVD. There can be only one title menu on a DVD.

The regular menu button on a remote normally takes you to the root menu (many/most remotes don't have a "title menu" button, just a root menu button that's called "menu"). You can have one root menu per VTS. As a result the root menu is usually constructed as a dummy menu, which includes commands that cause the player to select the appropriate menu based on what menu you originally came from.

If you only have one "menu" button on your remote, chances are that this button has been defined to invoke the title menu (unusual but possible), in which case there's nothing you can do to change the behavior as it's a function of a poor design choice made by the player manufacturer.
