Scene Selection Linked-Object Skipped

Folks,

I have created a Scene Selection menu in DVD-A v2 from the markers inserted in Vegas. I'm using text-only objects in the scene menu, 5 objects per page. On several pages one of the objects is skipped when you scroll down (arrow down) the list of objects while previewing in DVD-A, or during playback on a DVD video player. The link associated with the skipped object seems to work OK, and the object order asssociated with the skipped object seems OK too (i.e., it is the 2nd linked object on the page, and its object order is one higher than the first linked object (chapter) and one lower than the third linked object).

Note that the skipping behavior does not occur when scrolling through the Scene Selection objects from the DVD-A Project Overview window, but rather only when in the Workspace window or during DVD preview/playback.

Any ideas what is causing this skipping behavior?

There may be more than one solution to this quirky behavior but here is my solution.

1. Select all of the menu choices on your menu.
2. Make all of your selections the exact same width (there are menu choices for this).

From there you can justify and align your items as you wish but keep them the same width.

I'm not sure why this works but it does.

Cheers,

Mike

Thanks Mike,

What I ended up doing was to change the value of the up/down navigation attribute value for the scene selection objects so that when the up/down navigation button (arrow key) is selected the menu-hightlight jumped to the next object on the page.

Apparently with the navigation attribute set to the default "auto" value, the program was not always making the correct decision regarding what to do when the up/down action is selected by the user.

If I encounter this again, I'll give your solution a try. Thanks!

Seems like this is a problem with DVD-A v2, but it is easily correctable.
