Scene selection menu function

I’ve been experimenting with the 'scene selection menu.' My video file was rendered to include markers denoting the beginning of scenes, and when the file is loaded into Architect these markers appear on the timeline. I then insert a scene selection menu under the video, which creates several links associated with the markers in the video.

In previewing the project, when a scene is selected from the menu the video starts at the appropriate point but when end of the scene is reached the video continues on to the next scene instead of returning to the menu. Is this how the scene selection menu works, not returning to the menu after the scene finishes?

If yes, then it looks like my only option is to manually create a multi-button menu and set in the in and out points for each scene.

Yes. If you want to return to the menu after each 'chapter' you need to import a copy of the event once for each of them in your project and set in & out points for each. The multiple copies will not add to the space used on the disk.

Consider that the vastly overwhelming use for DVDs is movies, and the vastly overwhelming use of scene menus in movies is for the viewers to pick up and continue watching the movie where they left off if they had to stop in the middle. It makes sense that play should then continue on to the end of the disc. This is why scene selection menus operate this way.

When you want to make a disc that doesn't work this way then you're in a tiny miniscule minority and should have to expect to do some extra work to accomplish it.

The HELP menu describes how to do this.
