Scene selection to start & stop not just at original marker points

I want to just have one large file to import where the markers would relate only to some portions of the project. I would then like to create usind another scene selection menu which would have the same start but a different finish place that from the first scene selection menu. The scenes from the second scene selection menu would be like subclips of the first set. The main would have it's own set for the major scenes & the second set would be for various scenes like just animals or special buildings etc?

To do this I would have to be able to set when a scene finishes & not just continue playing the entire video. Is this possible?

Make your "main" set the same way you normally would -- bring in your media file, set the chapter points, and insert a sene selection menu for it.

For the "subclips" menu, copy the link from the main menu. Then insert a menu page and paste the copied link one time for each subclip you want. Finally, for each of these new links, double-click its button and change its In / Out points to reflect where you want it to start and finish. You can use the previously created chapter points as a guide.

If you're using DVDA 2, it will only put the media file on your disc once, but use that same file for all the subclips. But if you're using DVDA 1, and if your media file is an MPEG, it's going to copy the entire video for every subclip and for the main clip...which might be a problem spacewise.
