Navigate into your movie and put your cursor on a frame you want to use as a thumbnail. Then, in the Project Overview, right-click the item you want to change -- For a Scene Selection Menu, this would be the approprite "Link" item beneath that menu's heading -- and choose Set Thumbnail From View.

Thanks a lot Rob for the reply. I have been searching for guides and tutorials but cannot find any. Where do you guys learn all of this? Thanks.

You're lookin' at it. ;-)

There are more complicated ways of changing a button thumbnail, but (after having used DVDA for almost four years) I just learned about the "Set Thumbnail from View" option on this forum about a year ago. There are some pretty clever and helpful people on this forum, so keep hanging around and you'll be up to speed in no time.

Other than that, I mostly learn by exploring the program to see what's what, using trial and error, and (once in a while) reading the manual.

As for guides and tutorials, there's not a whole lot out there for DVD Architect. You will find a few on Youtube, and there are some Vegas books and training DVDs available that also touch on DVD Architect. Check Amazon and VASST.com. A few months ago, I started a site of Vegas tips and tutorials called VegasVideoHelp.com, and now and then I do an article for DVD Architect. So far I've just covered a couple slightly advanced topics, but I will be covering more fundamentals as well.

PS: If you want to know the more complicated ways of changing a button thumbnail, select the button and look at the Media tab of the Button Properties window. The "Start From" (I think is what it's called) property is the timecode of the thumbnail. Or if it's an animated thumbnail, where the thumbnail's video begins.

The way i usually set the thumbnail is to have the original project open in Vegas while i'm setting up the DVD layout. I'll find the frame i want on the Vegas timeline, copy the timecode of that frame, then paste it into DVDA's timecode box for the thumbnail.
