Scheduling rendering

How do you guys do it? Very often I have to make four renderings - two real and two windows media (for T1/cable modems AND isdn). This will take hours to do when the projects are say an hour long. This also occupies my machine. So I want to use the night to do this. Is there a way to schedule a sort of a batch rendering process?

You could probably set up something using windows scheduling, but this would be a very unwieldy situation as you'd have to write scripts for all the keyboard interactions necessary. Not fun.

An alternative solution is to just launch Vegas 4 times and start all the renders running at once. I do this regularly and it works very well. True, each one only runs 1/4 as fast, but they all run simultaneously so the total time is the same. In fact, it might even be a bit faster because you'll get closer to 100% cpu usage.

A very good tip!
