scoring video to audio???

I'm pretty new to actually getting into vegas as an app.. since I'm a seasoned sound engineer/electronic musician... Recently, I created an animated visualization for one of my newest tracks... It took me around 9 hours to complete.. a 10 minute track...

Do any of you seasoned Vegas 5 users know if there is an eraser tool available in Vegas 5, and do you think that Vegas 5 is set up properly to sync video to audio.. or do you think this dilemma warrants a new product specifically designed to make music videos in a project studio?

If you want to see the music video I created.. or [since that one, I've created 2 more each taking just as much time as the first...]

Any tool you could use that would rpoduce these reults will be a tool that will be difficult and demanding at first. However, each time you do it, you will gain a better sense of how to save time and anchor frames. You need more experience and time under your belt, not a better tool.

I didn't clarify why I want an eraser.. so I'll do it now..

I've been remixing music in Acid pro since version 1.0 I use SoundForge and Acid regularly... daily.. There is a specific remix style that includes setting the grid to snap to 1/4 notes..1/8 notes.. etc, then erasing every other note to create the stuttering effect...

I'm an Old school DJ who is used to doing most effects by hand rather than using a plugin for the same effect... I want an eraser to create beat effects by slicing the generated video noise on the beats of the music... I guess what I really want is Acid for synching video to audio... since I am highly proficient with Acid pro 5 .

If I were doing a more run of the mill type music video, the kind you see on MTV... I'm sure this tool wouldn't be needed, but I'm trying to simulate what you would see if you opened Winamp Visualizations or Windows Media Player... A beat driven visual experience...

Ultimate S will more or less give you what you want, except you'll have to hit the M key on the beats to mark the cuts. So, you'd be hitting the M key for each quarter note.
If you knew the EXACT tempo, you could also use a free script to lay in markers at a specified interval. Then you'd find your stills/vid clips that you want to lay in, and Ultimate S will place them inbetween those markers. It will also add panning to the image if you want it.

Would Sound Keys do? It needs AE, but has all sorts of video manipulation based on the sound track as its only purpose.

See the examples on the web page above for how to do visualizations.

Free trial version, $99 to buy, used by top pros.

Thanks, I'll look into both of those plugins.... Maybe scripting is where I'm supposed to be... I like the idea of setting the BPM in the audio track & project and then auto dropping markers at specific time intervals.. this would certainly speed up the slicing tasks....

Are any of you aware of a plugin that does spectrum analysis, then drops markers based on the most powerful peak values?... just a thought..

Created by Blue Cat. The plugin draws the peaks in the audio into an enveloppe. You can then copy the envelope onto the video track to drwa out opacity or whatever...

Unfortunately the video tut seems to have disappeared..
