Screen capture settings using CamStudio

I've recently started making some instructional video's.

I'm using CamStudio to capture screen action on a separate PC then transferring them onto my main PC in order to edit them in Sony Movie Studio Platinum v13.0

I'm rendering the videos in AVI format using Xvid codec, but when I import them into Sony Movie Studio, they cause it to constantly crash.

I've found converting them using Free MP4 Video Converter into a new AVI file, Original Quality MPEG-4 (XVID, DIVX compatible); MP3 settings and then importing into Sony Movie Studio allows it to work ok.

So, what settings would be best used in CamStudio for the screen capturing? Should I get a different codec?

Thanks...

Found this on the CamStudio forum as it mentioned Vegas

http://camstudio.org/forum/discussion/1338/x264vfw-codec-and-render-settings-guide

You can do a Vegas search there for other threads that may help. Or do a divix search here as it has been discussed here.

Thanks MSmart.... it seems there is no obvious solution at the moment so I'm just going to stick with adding the conversion step in. It doesn't take that long, my video recordings are probably 10-20 mins max.
