they are not very high quality.... nor are they very commercial in theme.

most look like mid 80s home clips.

There are a few that are ok - smoke fire etc... but the gallery is fairly small.

mmreed thanks for info!

Do you know of any better sites or 3rd party software that sells clips and sound effects?

In my personal opinion - Sony could have hit a home run with the screenblast site, offering hundreds of cool clips, effects, etc loading it with juicy nuggets that could transform an average project into a dynamite one.

Unfortunately, they seem to have assembled an extremely weak collection of near useless trash, and seem instead to be focussing on offering online photo albums and the like.

Again - just my opinion from when I first checked it out. But, it was worthless even if it were free - the fact they want money for it is comical. In all fairness to Sony, it has been awhile since I checked it out - perhaps it has improved.

you can check digitaljuice.com but they are costly.

I do not know of any low cost stock clip sites - well, none that are worth mentioning.

hmmmm maybe this is something a few of us should join up and launch? I have the web design experience to get it on the net.... anyone interested? <grin>

Pinnacle (Ugh ..the P word") has a great add on collection of transitions that is worth the money.
I wonder why Sony would not do the same. Do they really think people would but the ScreenBlast web site crap ?

Yeah, screenblast surely does not look like something Sony would typically put out.... it look more like something Uncle Fester shot during vacation in the mid 80s.

The quality of the clips are very poor. Even the stillimages and borders are low end and often have poor compression reulting in pixelated images.
