Just received mine today. I know i need to study the book. Well My health problems cause problems understanding somethings. Please bear with me. I have video that has some bad frames and/or bad sports at front or end of frames. Can't figure out how to edit the out. When I had Studio 8 you just clicked on the frame then cut off part you did not want with sliders. I know this is not sutdio 8. Can you help me. so far it looks like a good deal. the one thing i really like is being able to hear tha audio as i capture.

Thanks !!!!

Jim,

Screenblast has a trimmer just like Studio but it’s hidden by default because you really don’t need it. There are three ways to trim off the unwanted frames. You can place the video cursor at the point where you want to remove the frames and press the “S” key (or press the Split Event button on the toolbar) to Split the event at that point. Then delete the unwanted frames from the end of the event by highlighting that section and press the delete key. You may have to move the rest of the clip over after the delete. If the bad frames are in the middle of a clip you need to press S twice (once on each side of the bad frames) to cut them out. Then delete them from the timeline.

The second way is to highlight the section you want to remove and press the delete key and selected video will be deleted from the middle of the clip and ripple edit will move the end of the clip over to fill the gap. You make this kind of highlight by clicking and dragging the mouse in the area just above the timeline but below the toolbar. This is also how to select a section to loop.

The last way is to just shorten the clip on the timeline if the frames are at the ends. If you hover the mouse over the end of the clip it will turn into a double-headed arrow. Then just left-click and drag the end of the event in to shorten the clip passed the bad frames.

Hope this makes sense. If not, ask again and I’ll try and explain it differently.
