Screenblast problem -Credit Roll

RWatts wrote on 1/10/2004, 3:15 PM
I was a happy VF user, often putting credit rolls on videos. I upgraded to Screenblast and find the following curiosity about credit roll - it doesn't show the credit roll type template on the drop-down screen (text/backdrop tab), but does show it in preview. As soon as I start to type a header, the template in preview disappears. I tried the repair-reinstall, no change. Anybody got any ideas?

There were some bugs in the first release of Movie Studio 3 that caused credit roll to do some odd things. Have you downloaded the 3.0a update? That supposedly fixes the bugs.

I'm not entirely sure I understand what you mean.... however, there were some issues with credit roll in version 3 that were corrected in the recent upgrade to 3.0a, so I would start by downloading the update if you have not already done so.

I was never a VF user, so cannot compare. However, to do a credit roll, I select the text & backdrops tab, then highlight "credit roll" on the left side. At that point, 8 preset "templates" appear showing the effect.

Dragging any of those into any video track opens the credit roll's properties dialog box. As you edit the sample text, your changes are shown in the preview window only if the cursur is located within credit roll event on the time line, which is not likely to be the case as you first create the credit roll as the selection, by default, is a loop region of the entire event.

Did that make sense?

Chienworks and djcc:
No, I haven't downloaded 3.0a yet , but will this instant! Thanks so much
djcc: That all makes sense, that is the way VF2 worked, but the error point is that no sample text appears! Thanks for the upgrade suggestion,
This sure is an effective forum!!!
Thanks so much, both

Chienworks:
I have Version 3.0, build 78, recently loaded from CD. When I used the check for update under help as you suggested, the Sony site claims I have the latest version. I did a search for similar problems in the knowledge base but couldn't find anything. Any ideas? I'm stuck here with a customer product on file and no way to edit credit roll.
Thanks, in advance,

try that link - for some reason Sony doesnt have it as an update that triggers the online notify or update in the app option.

The link provided by MMReed will likely correct your problems... Part of my own purchase decision was based on the credit roll features of MS... imagine how irritated I was when it didn't work!! Fortunately, I got upto speed on other features, and by the time I really needed credit roll, they had released an update which fixed the feature. Keep us posted.
