Script for importing text into event

Summersond wrote on 5/14/2013, 11:23 AM
I couldn't find anything so far so here is what I need. I have about 400 slides that need text added for each one. I have a text doc that has the text and rather than cut and paste each line of text into each slide, is there a script - or can this even be done - that will pull the line of text from the doc and insert it into each slide video event?
Thanks!
dave

Text generator from Vegasaur will do it. It has free 30-day trial period, so try it for yourself.

Here is how to do it:
1) Select the track with your events and run Text Generator
2) Select the desired text preset, select At Events, click Next
3) Choose I will set text manually option, click Next
4) Use Paste from Clipboard button to insert your text (copy it from your file).
Every line from text will be inserted as a new text event.
If you want multiline titles, separate each title with the empty line
5) Set the length, and click OK.

Done!

The details are in the Help file. Good luck!

That worked great except for 1 thing... How do you set the text size and outline parameters? It uses 72 point which is way too big... I am using Vegas Pro 11.

You can select the desired text preset on the first page. Vegas allows you to create custom presets with font, color, size etc. that meet your needs.
