The swap script will swap any photo or video clip with another on the timeline. So if you place all the TIFs on the timeline on another video track you can swap them with the PNGs then delete the TIFS. But then again just delete the TIFS and replace with the PNGS and you don't need to swap.

I use a script that someone here gave me to delete all active takes. That leaves empty events on the timeline which I fill back in with new photos using the add as take command (drag the photo with the right mouse button to get the menu to show "add as take")

I may be missing something, but for me it is pretty easy to just go to the file in the project media bin, right click, select replace, and point to the new file. Moves etc. stay intact.

Maybe 10>20 is a case for doing a manual swap, but if the OP has like 10s or 100s or thousands(!), which we don't know, then coming here for a script would indicate a need to do something a bit more time saving - but I AM guessing.

I recently used UliSPro4 to swap out MP4 video for AVI - piece of cake. I can't see why the same couldn't be done with Stills too? In fact I may just put aside some time to day to check this out with UliSPro - Or maybe an acolyte of UliS will confirm or deny this?

Hope you used IrfanView to convert? Did you?

UliSPro did it - of course it did it. Simples!

I converted the 96 pngs to jpgs using Irfanview and the used UliSPro to swap the 96 PNGs Stills on the Timeline for 96 JPGs. Took 3 seconds maybe? Marvellous.

Try Batch Replace.

-Select media to replace in Mediapool and run script.
-Select directory where the new media are located.
-Select the extension of the new media (the base name of the new media must be the same as the media to replace).
-Click “Search and Replace”.

Yes Grazie, I've got about 100 and to swap them one at a time would be nuts. Yes I did use IrfanView, great program. Thanks for the heads up on the Batch Replace Giles. I'll give it a shot.

As an existing US2 user you can upgrade to US4 at a discount. Then you would have the latest features. ;-)
