Script help

I am using V8 multi-cam to edit projects that contain HDV and DV footage with the output being DV. If i set the HD clip(s) to "match output aspect", this goes away when using multi-cam. If I set "match output aspect" and pan/scan one of the resulting takes after running multi-cam I can copy it and use Paste Event Attributes on all the HD clips/takes that are selected. This will give me the desired result.

Here is the rub. How can one easily select all the takes of a particular clip? I read a post that suggested using the "edit details" view to select them and this works, but is somewhat tedious for a long show. Is there a script that will select all instances of a clip using its name?

Of course I could render the HD clip to DV and use that but I would rather not.

Jerry

You could use a multi-cam script like Ultimate S3 QuadCAM which doesn't have this limitation. When used in Vegas Pro 8.0, QuadCAM uses Track Motion and preserves your Pan/Crop settings. Ultimate S3 also has the ability to set all of your clips to match the output aspect if you prefer to use the V8 multi-cam tool. I'm not sure if Excalibur will use Track Motion for multi-cam in Vegas 8 or not but that's another nice scripting tool.

Yup, Ultimate S will do that too. On the Editing Tab there is an option to Select Same Source. Just select an event and it will select every other event who's active take comes from the same source clip.
