There is a bug with some formats from some Panasonic cameras that causes the video stream of each event to be extended way beyond the audio stream. The extended part is simply the final frame repeated. The video stream is around four or five times longer than the audio.
One format this happens with is C4K (4096x2160) .mov footage from the Panasonic GH4. This is likely to become a pretty popular format with Vegas Pro users in the future. I am seeing this bug in VP10 but I understand it still exists in VP13.
When such clips are placed on the timeline, the result looks like this:
Would it be possible for one of you scripting gurus to write a script that trims the unwanted portion of each video event, and preferably ripples the timeline to close the gaps? The audio stream is correct, so the trim point would either be the end of the audio stream of each event, or alternatively the first duplicate video frame.
I'm guessing this would be reasonably straightforward and would be hugely appreciated by me and other GH users.
Thanks!
