script to create Markers for slides

I am volunteering to edit for a group that has a wide shot of a presenter with their powerpoint in the background. I am using Vegas Pro 22. Is there a script that can detect the changes in the background of the slide and put a marker on the timeline so I can easily edit the original slide there? Thanks! James

Actually, scripts can't "see" the video at all without resorting to tricks like taking a snapshot or looking at the file directly. I don't know if this six part series might help you:

You can also just play back the timeline watching it and just press "M" as the background changes while the timeline plays. You might have to "fine tune" the placements of them afterwards but they, at least, be in the ballpark.

thanks Edward. I'm trying to speed it up. will look at the video. I still have and occasionally use Excalibur. Still a great program when you need it. There was an old program that is no longer around that used to do create the markers. Can't remember the name.

@jredmond Maybe Vegas Scene Detection will do it, that adds Regions & can be Split.
