Scrollbar Blacked Out

This is a weird one. On my laptop VMS has the timeline zoom bar blacked out. You can still use it (tool tips appear and you can guess where the buttons are) but obviously this is a real pain. It was originally ok but happened while I was trying to fix rendering crashes (now sorted).

I have tried reinstalling several times including deleting registry entries and re-booting bewteen uninstall and re-install and it still comes back the same?

The same installation disc installs and works fine on my desktop.

As a quick test, try changing the Windows color scheme color.

It looks like you have Win7, but in WinXP it's right click on Desktop, choose Properties, Appearance tab, Color scheme:. If not, it's gotta be something in the Advanced settings.

It's most likely a Windows issue, not VMS.

After you try MSmarts suggestion, if you are still having troubles, you can go to Preferences and check or uncheck (depending on what it is now) 'enable windows theme support'. Credit to Chienworks. Cin

Tried changing the Windows destop theme - no joy.

I can't find: 'enable windows theme support' in preferences? Am I just being blind?

Not blind. Go to 'Options' > Preferences > General > it should be about the 35th option. See if that helps. Cin

Ah ha! Found it!

Remove tick from "Enable Windows XP Theme Support" and it goes away.

Put tick in and it comes back.

Thank you very much. I didn't know that option or the other gazillion options! existed.

Be interesting to check on my other Win 7 machine too as it's ok on that and I've never changed the options.....
