How do I change the speed of scrolling text? (i.e. credits/title/etc) I can't seem to find a way in either text entered through the media generator or in credits imported as a png file.
Sorry, I'm not following. The keyframes where? In the text media generator? In the pan/crop dialog box? Can you give me a little more detail re: making it faster or slower? Thanks!
If you are moving the image or text with the pan/crop tool, try spacing the pan/crop keyframes closer together. Same thing if you are using track motion to roll the credits.
I have to translate this myself. I think you are assuming we are using a text file based shot -- that's a great idea I think, if it works.
In other words, bunky, do the page layout of your credits, then frame and capture to one or more JPEG files. (My personal utility to use would be SNAGIT, but you may be able to *output* a file.) Drop this on a timeline and have-at.
Still, we were just asking if we could vary the credit roll using Text/Backgrounds. I think the answer is no. >:-/
Actually, the answer is YES. Using the text/backgrounds credit roll, just size the event to whatever time period you want. Then right-click the event and select Properties. Under Text/Backdrop click on the "Set to event length" button (to the right of media length).
Oops. I forgot to mention that I'm using VideoFactory. Although I'd be pretty miffed if they actually removed functionality in the Vegas version. I'm sure another Vegas user can tell you the exact location of the "Set to event length" button.
Looks like GG is right. It must be a VideoFactory only feature. But, you can still stretch the event out the length you want it,
double-click on it to select it as a region so you can find out it's length, then manually enter that length in the event properties.
It's slightly more round-about, but it gets the job done.
This is a good place to mention a request for VV to provide a "safe speed" setting to avoid flickering. This is another thing we need to calculate manually, but that could be helpfully automated.
Sure, these can help. However, the article states that there are some scrolling speeds that are good and some that are bad. Good reasons too. AFAIK, no amount of resampling et al. is going to correct this flicker problem if you're using a poor speed choice. Unfortunatly, I'm saying this without doing the tests myself, but the article is pretty logical, is it not?
sometimes i get flickering credits, sometimes i don't!!
almond joy's got nuts, mounds don't!!
i have tried "resampling" - didn't work
i have tried "apply interlace filter" - didn't work
what i now do is render my credits first, make sure they don't flicker - then add them to the end of my project
i have flicker fear
