SCVUG?

What ever happened to the SCVUG?
I used to see postings of when/where meetings were going to be held. I know they have the Yahoo Group... but it seems like I never get any answer about meetings there. One guy even wrote me an eMail telling me NOT to ask any questions about the group.

Are they still around?
Anyone know what's going on with them?

Like any group, it takes a bit of time to build enough mass of members to be sellf-sustaining.

I think that the wagonmaster is a bit busy making money so he hasn't been as active on the website as he had been.

You'll probably find more of them at Vegas Editors than on Yahoo.

The SCVUG is alive and well!

For those of you who might not be familiar with the SCVUG acronym -The SCVUG is the "Southern California Vegas Users Group"

The SCVUG's membership is currently at 1270 members who regularily post Vegas Q&A on our YahooGroups email based side. You may visit the SCVUG Here

We also have our web based side - VegasEditors.com which hosts the NAB 2005 Vegas 6 and DVDA 3 Tutorial Seminars.

Membership is free, viewing the tutorials is free and there is a special Vegas Editors Resource Directory that each of our members are entilted to add listings to. VegasEditors can be found Here

Holding meetings requires alot of time and preparation. The SCVUG has held alot of meetings and they have always been fun events. We just had a mini meeting at the DV Expo West on December 8th. We will have a grand meeting in April - just after NAB 2006.

I spend alot of my time hosting and moderating the SCVUG and VegasEditors.com. Like the rest of you - I too, have to work.

Much of my time has been involved in building a stock footage website using Vegas 6 to encode some 300,000 video clips. The site is called FootageWorks.com and you are welcome to visit it Here.

I have also been involved in a major lawsuit concerning the theft of my copyrighted media by a broadcaster. That case is going to trial in January - so, you can only imagine the preparation time involved with it.

Thank you all very much for your concern about the SCVUG.

The SCVUG is doing just fine. Check us out and see for yourself.
