Secondary Audio Not Rendering

Hello, I'm rather new to Sony's editing software and these forums. I apologize if this is not the correct area to place this thread, as my issue is with Sony Movie Studio 13 (I couldn't find a forum for my particular product).

Anyway, I just spent the last 24 hours rendering a gameplay video and found out that the voice-over audio didn't appear in the rendered file. The commentary audio played fine and in-sync when previewed in the project.

I messed around and eventually tried to figure what was going on through the tutorials. The adding audio effects tutorial pointed out that only the 8th track could be used for editing audio effects. I decided to render a short test video with secondary audio in the 8th track and found it to work.

I'm really confused. Why does only the 8th track allow the added audio to appear in the rendered product? What's the use of tracks 3-7 if the added media doesn't make a difference in the final product? Am I doing something wrong? All the tracks are the default ones created by the program and only the volume slider has been altered in any of them.

Sounds like you possibly have either audio tracks muted OR something soloed. Moving forward until you're sure you have this resolved, I'd render the audio portion only. Should just take a few moments instead of trying to render the entire project and spending all that time to find out it again didn't work.

Mechonis,
No, something isn't right here.
I am a working professional audio engineer who uses Vegas for my home movies, and I can assure you, I have rendered heaps of movies where I use audio effects on ALL of my audio tracks.
Couple of things to check....

* Look at your track properties area (that part which appears on the left side of your track layout) for your audio tracks. You'll see the volume fader, and depending on how big/small you have your tracks displayed, you might also see the pan slider (for moving audio across your left/right speakers). You'll also see a part of that little piece of real estate where there'll either be a square icon, or an "A" or a "B". This is where you assign audio traks to route either directly to the mixer's master output (the square icon will be displayed), or to a buss (the 'A' and the 'B' refer to which buss that particular audio track is routed to). Unless you already understand what busses are used for, make sure all your audio tracks are routed to the master (showing the square icon, and not an 'A' or a 'B').
* If you ARE using busses for some reason, make sure that the buss master fader (which will appear right down the bottom of the tracklay, after any blank grey space) is set to unity gain (0dB).
If you get through all this an you're still having no luck, see if you can take a screen grab and post it here. I might be able to diagnose a problem from a screenshot.
Best of luck!
