Thanks as always to Spot for the kick-butt DVD training course, couldn't have done it without your tutorials.... you're the best, man.

Fact: I'd never used a video editor before last year. My video editing was limited to using the "pause button on the VCR/camcorder", til I watched DSE's DVD course on how to use Vegas.

Gary K's DVDs were also very helpful. Thanks to both of you.

Vegas/Ultra/DJ helping me make a bundle - wee... :)

I would suggest a couple things from the bit i watched. When you "X" out the stuff to your right, let it fade as soon as it's been "x"ed out or Very shortly after ( a couple of seconds at most)

Some of the BG music (like when you were introing that wall street hotshot) was in too much contention with your own voice - either don't speak for a couple of seconds and then really bring the music down, or don't let the music get very high in the first place.

And - as always - slow down your talking just a bit - it's getting better, but it's a VERY quick pace that you are talking at, and I have to strain to keep up sometimes.

All, in all - a very good / well done video :):

Good work.

I would slow down the talking more than "just a bit". You talk way too fast!

Ultra comp

the magicians ... seriousmagic.com ultra re pushes..

new features include addition of multiple pan/zoom points, plus shadow compositing, HD support and more... it's a killer app.

now THEIR new release, Ultra 2, promises to have tons of useful new features... and is likely to really work. unlike the beta V6...sony should take note from how it works, from SM..they're a kick butt design company... grab ultra now :P

did some stuff re screen work w/Vegas 4, like the DVD crawl and titling... plus audio editing for the soundtrack...

agree I talk too fast, too bad though, that's just how I am.. (^_+)

agree too BGM a bit loud, I'll tone it down, or more likely, EQ out the low end for it...

Overall a thumbs up. I'm using a 512/512 connection down under, and it did buffer a few times.

1. What equipment did you use behind the glass?
2. How are you serving the video?

Just watched their video of the product - amazing stuff.

You blokes are making me spend a fortune! ;-)

Just watched it for the first time Ken - a few observations - please take them as honest reactions:

You need to keep your left hand still or out of sight - it is distracting and speaks of nervousness whilst you're trying to talk about confidence in your system.

The background noise during some of the seminar attendees' testimonials was very loud and distracting.

I found the girl posing as someone asking you questions, then suddenly becoming a hostess giving out information a bit conflicting.

It has plenty of pace, and very busy visuals, which I guess goes with the hyped up world you're dealing with, and it's very well put together. You've certainly become proficient in Vegas in a very short time.

Unfortunately, I won't be one of your customers - whenever someone tries to sell me money making methods, I think to myself "If their methods make so much money why do they need mine?"

Cheers

Peter

Hi Dave, Peter, others -- great points, appreciate it...

I need to force my left hand to be still, I tend to gesture a lot when I talk, naturally, which is distracting... one thing I do is closeup a bit more, when rendering, but it's still there..

Good point re Stacy role transition... that's a sharp "catch", appreciate it ... hadn't thought about that, I'll keep that in mind when scripting future shoots, so that her role is clear and consistent.. excellent catch..

True re skeptical audience, that's the kind of reaction I try to overcome with all the testimonials...

I'm re-editing it this weekend, will do re editing out applause, and fixing audio interference... can't EQ out bg noise during testimonials, since that was done at a live seminar, for future ones I'll take em out in the hall to do the video shoots..

thx re editing notes... I'd used midi sequencers for 20 years, back with a commodore 64 even (ah those were the days :), so familiar w/timelines, I'd just never done NLE/video editing.. it's Spot's dvds that got me through the initial learning curve v. quickly, he's a great teacher..

Great reaction Ken
I too was a C64 person, but really came alive with the fabulous Atari ST - still the most efficient PC ever in my book - I could compose 32 track orchestral music runing at 11 Mhz with 4 Mb of ram - the secret was hardware OS of couse, but what a computer!

Once again Ken, great job! Congrats on how fast you've pulled this up to speed!
