Selected codec does not support for Cineform rendr

Hey guys,
I'm using the Vegas Pro 10 Build 470 trial version and Cineform 6.9.3.530 codec and can't get it to render. I get the error 'The selected codec does not support the current render settings' when I try to render to AVI using the Cineform codec setting. It doesn't seem to matter which Encoding format or Encoding option I use. I searched this forum and I though that the current Vegas Pro can render to Cineform. Is this not correct? Note that I can render to Cineform fine using Movie Studio 10 Platinum.

Cineform rendering has been dropped unless you purchase a Cineform product.

Some users are getting good results using other bundled or free codecs such as Sony MXF or Avid DNxHD for purposes they previously would have used Cineform for.

Thanks for your post, Nick. I bought NeoScene HD, which comes with the Cineform codec and renders with VMS. Is there now a different codec that I need to buy for Vegas Pro?

I'm not familiar with the paid Cineform products but I think the same one should work in 10.0c. There are plenty of Cineform users on the forum who can confirm that.

Perhaps it is because you are using the trial version of Vegas that you can't render to Cineform. As I recall, there are some things disabled in the trial for licensing reasons. Cineform might be one of those. Also, what image dimension are you trying to render?

I'm trying to render to 1920x1080 AVI to prep for MeGUI. Can someone confirm this is a Trial version restriction? It would seem like there'd be a Vegas warning message about that when you try to do it.

I have the full 10.0c version installed and I can't render to Cineform from it. I get the error message "An error occurred while creating the media file. No compatible video codec was found". I do have the free Neo Player installed, but I highly doubt this would have disabled Cineform rendering in Vegas. If I need to render to Cineform I go back to Vegas 8.0c.

If you have 32-bit Vegas you can use the Debugmode Frameserver and effectively give MeGUI an uncompressed stream without rendering a huge file. I don't think it works yet in 64-bit Vegas.

You could also try HuffYUV or Lagarith (bigger files than Cineform but lossless), or Sony YUV. Not sure if AviSynth/MeGUI will open the formats I mentioned earlier (DNxHD or Sony MXF).

The Cineform codec is no longer included with Vegas.

Appreciate all the help, guys. I reached out to Cineform and they didn't know why the 'Cineform HD v6.9.3' codec isn't available under the AVI | Custom options area either. So, they recommended that I reach out to Sony so I'm waiting to hear back about it. From my previous note, it does work in SVMS and I'm not talking about the out of the box Cineform codec, I'm talking about the codec distributed with purchased Neoscene.
