Selecting edge of blended clip to shorten

I have two clips that are blended somewhat where they join. How can I select the edge of one of the clips so that I can drag it shorter while keeping both clips position? When I select the clip I want to adjust (shorten) and then move to the end of the clips where it is blended, I always end up re sizing the wrong clip.

Thanks

Click on the join between the two clips then use your mouse scroll wheel to zoom in on the crossfade. Now hover the mouse pointer over the edge of the clip you want to shorten (if it's the first clip the edge is the right side of the cross fade and vice versa). If you're shortening the first clip you will see a two headed arrow with a symbol that looks like a quarter circle. Click and pull to the left. If you're shortening the right hand clip you will see a two headed arrow with a rectangle shape. Click and pull to the right. If you want the clips to stay crossfaded ensure that auto-ripple is set on before you shorten the clip.
