Selecting Events

I have a pretty complex project with lots of titles and other events. I need to select all events after a point and move them (to insert some new footage and delete others).

I know I can hold down shift and get some that way, but I find that when the events are on lots of different tracks and contain text that this is sometimes a little fickle. Also grouping is a bit fickle too.

What is the best way to select all the events after the cursor and move them together?

Turn on auto-ripple and set it to "all affected tracks". Press Shift-Ctrl-A to make sure you have no tracks selected. Now pick any event and drag it to the right. All events that don't start before that event will move with it.

The Insert / Time menu command is also useful for this sort of thing.

As usual, you're right on. I tested it on a simple project, now I try it with my big one. Thanks a million.

Damn that helps!

I've been messing around with grouping, selecting events and it has really slowed the process down.

My project is a music festival documentary that is about 46 min long so far with tons of little edits and ungrouping of video from music, text inserts, graphics, etc.

Whenever I've had to remove something or try and insert a new section, I've spent more time trying to move things around than the edit itself.

Many many thanks. Don't know why I didn't see that to begin with.
