Selective prerender? adds black bars?

Former user wrote on 7/23/2022, 5:59 PM

I don't understand this,

I have a 9:16 image 1440 x 2560, I've added Boris's Bokeh Lights, playback is rubbish as with a lot of Boris's Sapphire filters in Vegas,

Build Dynamic Ram works fine but is sometimes a little slow, so i keep trying Selectively prerender but in this case it reduced the width to 1440 x 2160 adding black bars or in other projects it can do other unpredictable 'odd' things,

Removing all prerenders in Tools - Clean up prerenders returns the image back to correct

PS, Render to a new track works fine, but i get the pop-up option of aspect/size etc. with that

@Former user

Here's the fix:

Build your own temporary render template for Pre-rendered files.

But the fix may be broken, too!

I was able to get this template to work:

@john_dennis Thanks that works, & that's a good bit of knowledge learnt 👍

Weirdly tho I just recreated that timeline to test your suggestion & before i did any prerender, no dynamic ram or anything else, & Vegas has even crashed & restarted since i posted the pics above, but playback was smooth, it reached full fps almost immediately, i did the prerender to test it as per your post but it wasn't necessary this time 🤷‍♂️🤣🤣🥴
