Selectively Prerender Video

I'm capturing video using Sony's DVGate, and while I add the video in Vegas 3.0c and use Selectively Prerender Video, it renders the whole video (I've just trimmed a portion of the original video, no effects, no transitions).
The selectively prerendering is not suppose to detect that no changes where made to de original video ? Why it renders it ?
I'm sure I'm making a mistake somwhere. Any suggestions...

Thanks a lot, Federico

Selectively pre render will render whatever is selected, or the whole video depending on what you have CHECKED (ticked). Select what part you want to render and when the dialog window comes up, check the option to render Selected area.

Hi Federico,

Vegas doesn't necessarily accept other DV codecs as native and will render all that footage. If you use Vegas Capture rather than DVGate, you may avoid this issue.

I'll check to see if My DVgate is still installed and post an update if I find out more info.

Hi Federico,

I tried capturing a bit with DVGate and put it in the Vegas timline. It skipped the prerender, indicating that Vegas accepts it as native.

You might check to see if you have a setting mis-applied somewhere in your project, or you could run a brief test with a new project and one short clip to see what happens when you prerender.
