The new PD 170 cam, unveiled tonight at the Sony Pictures press event, made for a very nice launch and very cool cam. Check it out if you get a moment. Depth of field is awesome, very sexy package that looks great.
Saw a raw cut of a music vid that was very nice, shot with the 170.

Yes - looks pretty damn nice.

I hope to be in the market for a new cam next year, and this will certainly be up there on the "possibles" list.

They seem to like it, but do have some concerns about audio hiss:
After using mics high and low balanced (onboard XLR's), a high frequency tone (like hiss) is heard when the new hybrid LCD screen is opened and activated . When LCDscreen is closed, sound is OK and better than PD150 ever was!. Hope Sony immediate sorts out this interference (?) problem and if necessary stops producing and selling more units before costs and grieve with buyers and dealers get really worse and will cost them a fortune!

Yeah Spot, got my hands on it yeterday when I picked up my Canon XM2 from the "Canon Garage" . . . does feel nice . .and in charcoal grey too.
