Weird. That's so far behind the times it's almost sad.
I've been running Vegas natively on my computers for many years. Never have any troubles at all, and i've never needed bootcamp, parallels, macdrive, ntfs for mac, or anything like that.
I just install it and it runs, right out of the box, on a stock computer right from the store.
And i'll bet i paid a lot less for my computers too!

Well actually when I bought my MacPro back in 2006 I checked the equivalent Dell and HP computers with dual Zeon processors with the same RAM/HD configuration and they were more expensive!
Now that surprised me too as I had been working with and building my own PCs for some time. I even compared the cost of putting together an equivalent system from the components and, while slightly cheaper, the fact that I would have access to both operating systems easily made me jump at buying a Mac.
I basically ran it as a PC at first with Bootcamp and Windows XP editing in Vegas and only using the Mac side for ProToolsLE were there is a marked difference in that program's functionality between PC and Mac. With the advent recently of AVCHD and the problems I encountered with Vegas and that format I'm damn glad I bought the Mac because at least I have a simple workflow with FCP and AVCHD without multiple stages of import and transcoding as it all happens at the point of import from the original media in FCP.
I know I'm comparing Apples with Lemons (ooh, should that be Oranges?) but some things, many in fact, just work better on a Mac.
