ok i'm getting super frustrated on getting this vegas thing to normal like it was a month ago. i drag and drop a track or pic. then i want to see the beginning of it so i click on the beginning of the track. but it just won't show up on the preview window at all. i thought it was the snapping placement but that has nothing to do with it. please help me with this cause it is making it harder to do effects and cropping on the pic especially i do alot of splitting of tracks.

Are you saying that your preview window isn't working at all or just when you click at the beginning of a clip. Sorry I wasn't entirely clear on what you said, it was a little unspecific (my wife gets after me for being this way all the time - so no offense inteded)

I've just repeated your process. Here is my feedback.

1/- Are you absolutely sure you have it butted up to the beginning of the track? Make sure you cannot "push" the Event any further.

2/- Double Click on the Event: a) It should highlight the Event; b)The Cursor should automatically appear at the beginning of the clip AND the first frame would be visible.

3/- The ONLY way I can repeat what you've got is to have Quantize to Frame OFF.

4/- With QTF off I can get a "no-show" by placing the Cursor at the "beginning" of the clip because the cursor is "mid-frame" from ZERO to frame 1. It is only when you HIT frame 1 do you get a, well, Preview of Frame 1.

So, try what I've said, decide if you want QTF on or off and then remember what and how you got to this impasse . .. yeah I forget too!

Hope this helps,

Grazie
