Set Focus To Specified Track On Timeline

This may be a feature and I simply do not know how to access it: a shortcut (single key preferred) to set focus to a track of choice on the timeline. Reason for this is that very often I need to make a split or something at a precise frame on a certain track where my cursor is and that may not be selected at the time. If I use mouse to select that track, the cursor may not always end up at that precise frame. Hence, pressing a shortcut key selects that certain track at the cursor position.

Select a track by clicking on a track in the tracklist on the left. Your cursor will not move.

You really need to select the event to be aplit instead of selecting the track. After the point is in the correct place, CTRL-click the event to be split. This will select that event and allow it to be split.

CTRL-clicking on the event did the job (how did you know that?. Thanks much!

I knew that because I have to do it all the time. If ANY clips are selected, "S" wants to work on THAT clip - even if it isn't under the cursor. Therefore, nothing happens when "S" is pressed. As an alternative CTRL-SHIFT-A (deselect all clips) or CTRL-A (select ALL clips) would probably also work. I find it easer to just CTRL-Click the event. This also gives me a little more control if I don't want ALL clips under the cursor split.
