Now for something weird...
I'm running v1.0b of Vegas Pro with the XFX DX plugin packs. While mixing a project this weekend, I ran across a really STRANGE phenomenon...
The multitap delay plugin has historically worked flawlessly on my machine in regards to feedback amounts...From a few taps to near infinity, I've never had a problem. I have EDL/Mix files that were generated on my machine that still use this plugin correctly...
My client brought in materials recorded and edited in v1.0b on his machine at home. NO MIX SETTINGS OR PLUGINS WERE INCLUDED...
In all EDL/mixes that originated from him [even those saved as new names on my machine] the multitap delay plugin "chops" the feedback regeneration off after a consistent, yet meaningless, period of time. In other words, no matter how high you set the feedback and no matter any other settings, the delays play for a period of time and then "chop" off...Not nice sounding.
At first I thought it was simply a preview limitation...Not so...The problem shows up in rendered mixes.
Here are the workarounds we tried:
1) Restaged the machine [from an early, clean ghost image].
2) Rendered edited tracks into single wavefiles before passing to the plugin.
3) Tried every possible combination of settings within the plugin.
Again...I can go open an EDL from another mix session in August for the same client and the same plugin works flawlessly...
Ideas?
Thanks.
