SFK files

adam-w3196 wrote on 1/5/2020, 11:27 AM

I've looked EVERYWHERE to find how to stop SFK files from being made and I've only managed to get how to "Delete" them. I don't want to delete i want to completely stop them. I'm not sure if i'm doing something wrong but whenever i record with OBS the audio goes to ass when i listen to in in VEGAS and if i'm watching it out of VEGAS PRO 15 then there is no audio at all. I don't want to see that OBS isn't Vegas, I understand that but it's Vegas that's done it. I want to still be able to just have the Audio and vid in one MP4 file. if the file Sounds Ass because of something on my end (Mic,program, etc.) causing it to mess up then i'd love to hear that other people's audio is fine and i need to change something. I want to clarify that the audio is the games audio not mic audio.

thanks for reading,

Adam.

OBS records audio just fine. Also, find another world problem to worry about besides .sfk files. Billions of hours of audio have been processed with .sfk files on people's hard drives. Do you have an audio quality issue? "Goes to ass" is not a technical term.

I don't know what you want me to say. The quality of the sound is bad, Low quality and Grainy ? You can tell what's being said and the noises associated with whatever is recorded but it's not pleasant to listen to. OBS may record Audio fine But what i was trying to figure out is why it was so unpleasant to listen to and The big question, how can i stop the .sfk file from being produced if possible and have a normal .mp4 file. Billions of hours of audio may have been processed with .sfk but i'm new to VEGAS Pro and I like being simple.

.sfk is automatically generated once for Vegas Pro for drawing the peak of audio waveform.

it is normal.

or you can add it first to Vegas Pro, loaded it to project, then do something else first, and go back ready to edit.

A strange statement. Do you realise that the sfk files are just waveform files for showing the waveform on your timeline as mentioned by Set. They are not used for audio processing and are additional to your mp4 files. Your mp4 files are not touched by them and are still "normal" mp4 files. Or perhaps we're misunderstanding your problem?

The Vegas and Sound Forge <.sfk> files has no affect on the sound quality, or lack thereof.

I kind of forgot i made this post and I want to say sorry for any confusion. I'm not great at Figuring out what to say, regardless i have solved my problem. I want to apologies For blaming the .sfk file as it was new, in reality it was the fact that i was recording too many channels and somehow was messing up the audio.(I don't understand that part) I've set OBS back to recording as Stereo and the audio sounds great again. I now only have the Video and 1 channel of audio to play with. Again sorry for not understanding and thank you all for your time.
