Anybody know what these files are scattered all over? Any way to not generate this files or hide them?

The SKF files are the audio peak files. They are automatically generated whenever you place audio on the timeline. You can safely delete them and they will be regenerated as needed. If you stop their creation, your audio tracks will not show the waveforms so you won’t see the peaks (i.e., they will just be blank).
