sfx search

Hi.
I have a sfx library and was wondering if there are any future plan's to add descriptions to the search function that is embedded into the sfx's file, as I want to serach by description and not file name. Does anybody know of any other software that allows search by description other than the expensive Netmix

Surprisingly Yes.
The absolutely free Apple ITunes can do that for you. Not as completely as Netmix but if you include the metadata of the SFX it is searchable.
This can be included in the Comments field.
There was, a now defunct program, called SoundFX Search that had catalogued most of the available libraries back in the late 1990s but it has stopped development as far as I know.

Have you considered Vegas's own media manager?
I don't like the thing but others swear by it for tagging and indexing video clips, I cannot see why it wouldn't work for sfx files. Of course you have to open Vegas ti use it.
