Shaping Audio Envelopes [SOLVED]

I was going to ask....SOLUTION?@BELOW

How do I add and control the volume of parts of an audio track without cutting it into seperate events, by changing audio volume envelope of a track?

Envelopes are easy in Audacity

It seems to be possible to add an audio envelope because there is an envelope tool and there is what looks like an audio envelope (the purple line in the upper sound track) in this image

In Vegas help it says that (just like Audacity) one can click on the envelope tool, and then double click to add points or even press shift and draw an envelope (even audacity can't do that, I think).

But I can't seem to get my Vegas 7 (or 8, I think) to allow me to draw anything on audio tracks with shift pressed or with double click in envelope tool tip mode.

SOLUTION
Ah....I need to right click and add an envelope line in there first. It is always there in Audacity, and seems to be there (one can adjust the volume line) in Vegas.

The draw ability is brilliant.
