Sharp snapshots

I am in the timeline-single frames, and taking a snapshot in the video window, The frame in the timeline is very sharp, but in the video window it is not, I have double lines of a moving subject. If I am in the trimmer window the picture-frame is very sharp and also in the video window, no doubble fade-out lines, but I can not take a snapshot from the trimmer. Any idea how I can overcome this problem. I need the single snapshot for introduction. The subjects are moving animals. Thanks for your help. John

Set preview window to Best/Full prior to taking a snapshot.

There is also a script that allows you to take these stills automaticlly at best quality. It's always been a bit of a puzzle as to why this feature operates the way it does since I can't imagine anyone ever wantiing to save at less than best quality.

Yeah, it's pretty rudimentary. Essentially it just seems to save whatever is in the buffer but a smarter design would be to temporarily switch to something you've set in prefs and then switch back.

of course, I can see preferences needing a different layout to handle all of the things that probably ought to be there.
