Should I bother installing Movie Looks plugin

I just finished upgrading Vegas from 6 to 7, applying patches, and customizing various settings. I am now contemplating whether or not to add Magic Bullet Movie Looks. I never bothered installing it while using V 6.0 and I am curious if others have found this to be a useful tool.

By the way, one thing that I really hate are free plugins that prompt you to purchase the full version. If Movie Looks does this, that is reason enough for me not to install it.

It doesn't prompt you to buy the full version.

It has a large number of preset looks, many of which are based on the visual looks of films like Traffic, Saving Private Ryan, Amelie etc as well as some general styles.

I've used it to add a visual difference to sequences in corporate and wedding videos.

The version that comes for free with Vegas doesn't allow for much modification of the presets. I did buy the full version when an earlier sampler with only 5 presets was released back with Vegas 5.

It is fully editable but had the version that is now released with Vegas 6 and 7 been available then I probably would have been happy to stick with them even though being able to fully edit the presets and create new presets is a benefit.

One downside is that the rendering time for these presets is significantly longer than the standard Vision FX that are automatically installed in Vegas but rendering times will depend on your PC's speed of course.

I'd definitely install it as it's the only way you can tell if it's right for you and there's no downside, like popups asking you to upgrade, from installing it.

Note also that there is one adjustment in the free included looks--you can move a slider which blends the effect with normal, from 0 to 100%.
