I am new user fucking around on both Acid and Vegas and want to know which one will be more useful for me whose goal is to record best quality cd using condenser mics and line ins, recordin vocals, acoustic upright bas, guitars and drums and want lots of editing tools as well?
Also, could I record in Vegas and then bring track into acid to edit? How?
appreciate any and all help

If you're recording live music, Vegas is the one to use. Vegas Video 3.0 will also burn CD's. Acid works with samples which you buy on CD's. Since I am a musician, I make my own sounds, or record other musicians making their own sounds. Looks like you want to make real sounds too. As you can tell, I have a bad attitude towards sampling.
Good Luck,
Bruce

I just posted a detailed reply to this question for you in the ACID forum.
Basically, Vegas is what you want for this task, not ACID.
