Show synchronization +/- box

I must be braindead.
I'm "trying" v9, but I'm not seeing the synchronization offset box that shows up when the audio/video are out-of-sync. Is there a setting that controls that?

Do you mean:

Options | Preferences | Preview Device (Tab) > Sync offset (frames)

Where was the ± box you speak of? I'm guessing as you can't find it . . . where are YOU looking?

View->Active Take Information was what I was looking for (Ctrl-Shift-I)

The ping +/-box shows up in the take to show you how far it is offset from its audio/video.

You need to go and check:

View | Active Take Information

THEN you get the +/- boxes showing . . Gotcha!

You need to check that. If you THEN UnGroup and slide vid or aud you see the boxes. They ARE there.

I couldn't figure out the option to turn them on. They aren't on by default in the 9 preview and its been months since I hit that swithc in Vegas 8 :)
