Shuttle not working with Vegas Pro 17

Richard-Thornton wrote on 8/21/2019, 10:39 PM

Previous versions have worked but 17 for whatever the reason doesn’t. There’s nothing on any forms or in their documentation to address this. To my shock and amazement, I discovered that if I want any support, I have to pay for it. Not even 90 days? Try clicking on the link to email them, guess what doesn't work? Wtf? If I cannot get some type of support for what I consider a broken piece of software, I will demand a refund and this will be my last purchase.

Did you reset the program to look for Vegas 17?

@Richard-Thornton - Are you referring to the Contour “Shuttle” Pro? If so.....

Previous versions have worked but 17 for whatever the reason doesn’t.

@Richard-Thornton - I hear your frustration. However CSP working nicely here.

There’s nothing on any forms or in their documentation to address this.

@Richard-Thornton - Nothing to address for me.

To my shock and amazement, I discovered that if I want any support, I have to pay for it.

@Richard-Thornton - Why do you think that MAGIX shouldn’t charge you for support for a Third Party Supplier? CSP isn’t a MAGIX product. But you may have a different opinion. I’d like to you hear you explain. Previous versions of VP would have had the CSP Config files already included. This is early days.

f I cannot get some type of support for what I consider a broken piece of software, I will demand a refund and this will be my last purchase.

@Richard-Thornton - It’s not been my experience and of course that’s your decision as to what you want to do.

But...... If you’d like some support from us here just ask. I noticed you haven’t asked anything from us. I like a good rant and I can do it with the best. 😉

CSP2 is working fine here, on VP17. Are you interested?

Contour shuttle pro works fine here too. Be happy to explain what to do, but first retract the whole "WTF" bluster and calm down.

+ @Kinvermark .

Actually you don't reset the program, you add Vegas 17 to the list.

OldSmoke, yes, but I usually don't add, I just change the exe file it is looking for since generally the commands don't change and I have mine customized. So that is what I meant by reset.

Same here but I just make a new entry from the same settings as the previous version so that the Shuttle works in all versions the same way.

Thank you for the feedback. Once I heard that others were not having the issue, I look to the operator, i.e., me as being the problem. Thank you again for your help. Cheers.

@Richard-Thornton - You’re welcome! Have you been able to get the CSP working?

Richard-Thornton wrote on 8/28/2019, 10:15 PM

Yes, I was able to. As is usually the case in most of these situations, the problem turned out to be rather simple. The first profile I created had wrong settings, but I had neglected to delete it. The software referenced the very first profile. Once removed problem resolved. — a rookie mistake.

@Richard-Thornton - Been there, done that, will most likely repeat it again too! Glad you’re up and running again.

It has been a while since I have been back to video editing. I want to use my ShuttlePro but for the life of me I cannot see how to change the settings so I am able to use it with Vegas 17. In my dropdown settings box I do not see an option for Vegas 17 nor can I figure out how to tell the program to target Vegas 17. The Change Target Application is grayed out under Options. I have no problem getting it to work with Vegas 14. Any help would be appreciated.
