I can barely use vegas without one. My worflow, shuttle in the left hand - mouse on the right. It feels funny for a few hours but once you get used to it - man you are flying!
Mine is still sitting in it's box....used it for about a week and didn't really find that it helped me or allowed me to edit any faster. I guess I'm one of the few that don't find it very useful.

Dito. Wouldn’t edit without it. I hardly touch the keyboard anymore. Having the jog wheel is addicting. Every time someone posts about the arrow keys jumping frames, etc. (because you need to use Ctrl+Arrow to be frame accurate at any zoom) I just say to myself, “dude, get a Shuttle Pro”. The inner wheel is always frame accurate and you can manipulate it much faster than the arrow keys. Then I use the same jog wheel and button controls in Sound Forge and ACID. It just streamlines your workflow. It’s fully programmable so you can make the buttons do any key combination you want. It’s just one of those things you wonder how you ever did without.
Love my ShuttlePro.
I use one on my home editing setup. Now I gotta try to convince my place of employment to purchace one so I can continue to edit in a happy fashion.
I used to use a Shuttle Pro full time, but now I use my Bella for most things. the shuttle pro is great though, simply because of the macro buttons. Gary Kleiner really has his managed well, you might wanna ask him how he's got his set up.
I think of my Shuttlepro as somewhere between "awesome" and "indispensable."
You probably now, but you can customize what all the buttons do, ie, one Shuttlepro button can take the place of Shift+F5 or whatever. It takes just a moment to customize, and you can have different setups memorized, and change betwen them with a couple clicks.
So that means I could assign this Ctrl+L combo to one button.
Nice!
Might be in NYC in a few weeks, will give a peek at the price at B&H for sure..!
But can't we program a macro via Windows to do this???
Don't forget its use within Sound Forge and ACID too!
CSP is just so intuitive that it gets a lot of the "mechanics" out of the way. PLUS, as Gary K is always pointing out, to have more than one mechanical pc interface, can do a lot to guard against repetitive strain injury - something that us old-timers get more and more aware of as time .. er . .passes . .yeah? This is not an insignificant issue - not me getting old, silly! - but the value of alternating the use of various desktop PC access appliances - yes?
