Simple Delay Bug?

Rednroll wrote on 10/10/2000, 4:25 PM
Well I don't know if this is a bug or something I'm doing
wrong. I decided today, seeing that the SF Track FX's
plugins are optimized for Vegas and don't eat resources
when in the by-pass state like the direct-X version, to
create some presets. In the "Simple Delay" effect there's
two fields where you can enter numerical data. Well you
can't enter numerical data into these fields, you have to
use the slider controls, which is a tad more time
consuming. It will let you type into these fields, but it
won't let you "enter" the data? Anyone else try this yet?

I think the only track fx that manage resources the way you describe
are the built-in track fx (eq,gate, compression), not the XFX ones.
Correct me if I'm wrong...

I seem to be able to change the values manually by typing...
that's strange.

I can as well type in.

Well It must be just my system on this one then, everytime I try
and type a value in, I hit return and then I click outside of this
box it resets that particular parameter back to zero. Also Vern I
think it's all the plugins that are in the "Track Optimized" folder
that work this way(ie doesn't use resources in the bypass
state)....at least that would make sense to me...why else would they
be called "Track Optimized" anyone at SF care to elaborate or confirm?

Actually, Brian, it's not your system. I see what you mean. If I
enter .6 it goes to .001. If I enter 1.5, it goes to 1.0 and if I
uncheck the Multiple delays box, it goes to 1.0.

strange.

sf guys?

Ok, so I'm not crazy and I'm not the only one this is happening too,
I'm feeling reassured now. I think I better stop probing and using
things, SF might have to put me on the payroll as a Beta Tester.
Makes me wonder, is anyone actually working in that department, where
they test the program before they ship it or do they just go into
work everyday and sleep on their keyboard? Things have been a little
slow at my mastering studio lately, maybe I should send them a
resume. I heard Wisconsin gets real cold in the winter though.

Well thanks everyone, have you tried the Multi-tap delay and trying
to make realtime adjustments yet?
