(simple) editing question

I use VP9. I want to split an existing time line and bring i.e. the beginning portion to the middle (with all its edited tracks and mark etc).
However, when applying Auto Ripple the whole timeline moves. How can I do a kind of 'simple' cut and paste (only) including all relevant portions of tracks, marks and regions etc.
Could someone please walk me thru. Thanks a lot !

OK, here's a try.
DON'T save anything until you are satisfied that this actually works!! I tried it on one of my projects and it seems to.
Click on the upper-left-most event, then shift-click on the right - and-lower-most event that you want to move. ie, you have a bunch of events selected.
Right-click - copy.
Position the cursor where you want to introduce this lot.
Right-click - paste.
Now you just have to delete the events from the start of the timeline.

Make sure you have your veg file saved under a different name first.

On Auto Ripple, make sure you have "All, tracks, markers and regions" selected.

Hit Ctl-A to select everything in your complete timeline.

Now mark your in and out points from the front that you want to move to the middle.

Hit Ctl-X.

Move cursor to where you want to insert and hit Ctl-V.

This is a basically how I do it.

Thanks for your advise. It works perfectly.

Apparently I got stack on 'Cut' and Paste instead of 'Copy' and Paste and a little confused because only the sound tracks seemed highlighted - but now it works fine.

I just noticed that no Composite Level or Volume envelopes moved when applying copy and paste.
What am I missing ?

Do you have Envelopes Locked to Events?
