What I'm trying to do is this:-
Split a still horizontally across the centre, then moving both halves (using track motion) to the left and right respectivley off the screen, then keyframe for them to join at the middle.
No probs moving or keyframing - but tried setting up a mask, b/w horizontal (from med gens) and putting that on track 1, with copies of the still on tracks 2 and 3. Set tracks 1 and 2 as parent/child in mask mode and set event fx to "mask gen".
When I moved tracks 2,3 slightly off screen, track 1 showed half the still (correct), but track 2 was full still.
Perhaps I got it wrong about masking, thinking that one half of the mask should show track 1 and the other half track 2.
Ok, can acheive the results by the same mask on tracks 1 and 3 and the still on tracks 2 and 4, inverting one of the masks in event fx.
Is there an easier way on acheiving this - I find parent/child - masking and compositing a real headache.
thanks Mel
