Simple plug-in question

On my primary pc, I tried to add an audio effect via the 'Plug-In Chooser'. In a folder 'Third Party', I have several plug-ins from 'CyberLink'. I don't know where they came from but they are listed. No matter which one I select out of this folder, I get the following error message:

"The plug-in could not be run. One or more components...may be missing."

"If a hardware key (dongle) is required to operate this plug-in, ensure that it is properly installed."

A necessary COM interface was not available. You may need to reboot your computer."

Under DETAILS:
"The plug-in 'CyberLink Audio Effect' failed to load."

On my backup pc, I only have one audio effect listed in the "Third Party" folder.

The only software I have loaded on BOTH pcs from CyberLink is their DVD player.

So does anyone know what these effects are for and if I can use them?

WinXP-Home/Vegas5.0b

Thanks,
Bob

Dave T2,

Yes I do have PowerDVD installed on both computers, but could you explain why I have several plug-ins listed as available in Vegas? If I don't have access to them, then what are they for? Thanks for any info.

Bob
