Simple question

I just received Vegas 9.0b through the last promotion/sale. I already have 8.0c and DVDA 5.0 installed. Is there any need or reason to install DVDA 5.0 again along with Vegas 9? (I know that the current version of Vegas is 9.0c, but I think I will try to limp along with 'b' until 'd or e' comes out.)

Thanks,
Bob

PS. Also, I tried to install the Loop Libraries in the extra folder on the CD, but got some sort of error msg. that said I had to install something that supports the MediaManager. I did not install the MediaManager itself as I have no idea what I would use it for or even how to use it.

Nope,

If you already have DVDa installed then you don´t have to reinstall it. Just make sure you have the latest (5.0b) version installed. If not, update it.

Sorry, cannot comment on the loop libs, since I don´t myself use the mediamanager. The way I work (every project is its own entity) I don´t need it.

You can't use the Loop Library without installing the Media Manager.

The Media Manager is used to create databases (Libraries) of media files, indexed (tagged) according to whatever criteria make sense to you - e.g. LongShot, MidShot, CloseUp, etc; Beach, Hotel, Airport, Bar, Restaurant, etc; Funk, Fusion, Blues, BeBop, Swing, etc. Any tag or combination of tags can be applied to any of the items in the library.

The Loop Library is a ready-tagged Library of all the Acid Loops, etc, available from Sony, intended for reference purposes. You need to install the Media Manager to use it since it is a Media Manager Library.
