Simultaneous play & record, Lexicon Studio (question for Peter Haller)

warblemom wrote on 7/13/1999, 12:29 AM
Hi Peter,
Vegas doesn't like Lexicon Studio with the Simultaneous
Play/Record feature and gives an error message when I try
to send a bus output through to an external hardware
effects processor and record the processor's output on a
new track. Regular ("simultaneous" button not checked)
recording and playback work fine.
In the problem situation, I set my playback out to SPDIF
RCA, ran through an effects processor with dig in and sent
its analog out to analog in on record-enabled track, so I
know it's not about a word clock conflict between record
(SPDIF in) and play (Internal word clock source). If I can
iron out this with analog, it would be great to be able to
simultaneously play and record digitally as described
above-- but what clock source would I need to set Lexicon
to? (Internal, or SPDIF in?)
Would love to hear soon how I can resolve these issues.

Thanks also for getting back to me promptly about multiple
time signature thing. I do hope you guys decide to include
the time and tempo features soon. (I know this is a Vegas
forum but do you know if any similar discussions are taking
place about Acid?)

best, Ronit

Sounds like a wave driver problem. What version of drivers are you using?

I will look into this. (Need to install the Lex Studio hardware. I take it you
have ths 12T interface?

Thanks
Peter

Peter,
I am using version 4.10 of the Lexicon drivers and the 12T interface.

Ronit:

Just did some testing with the Lex Studio. I am having some major wierdness
with the drivers. I am setting up to repro the problem you are having.

I am a bit unfamilar with the hardware and its configuration, so any details on
how you have the Control for it set up and how you are doing the routing with
Vegas and the "outputs" that the Lex can do would be appreciated.

What I have the hardware set up for is to expose the Analog, ADAT, digital, and
AUX "outputs" setup. (After a number of reboots.) I have noticed that starting
playback of any app causes a massive delay as if the Lex is reconfiguring when
play/record is started.

Thanks
Peter

Hey Ronit,
Any fixes you find let me know. I just bought the same card and
interface.
